Urban philosopher Cardi B. is going viral over comments made about New York City budget cuts. Best known for refreshingly based opinions on inflation and songs about her overly lubricated lady bits, B. is concerned about what the budget cuts mean for her family still living in the city. She blamed President Joe Biden, and said he better not ask her for an endorsement.

Last week, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced cuts to the 2025 NYC budget that "would shrink the police department and slash funding to schools, cultural institutions, and libraries — supposedly due to the increasing cost of housing migrants."

In Cardi B.'s address to the nation, she correctly concluded that the police cuts would lead to a decrease in public safety. Though, she also said that no one cared about the cops.

"What’s going to happen to my nieces? What’s going to happen to my nephews? What’s going to happen to my cousins, my aunts, my friends that’s living in the hood? On top of that, there’s a sanitation fucking budget cut, so that means we’re gonna be drowning in rats."

B. then confused federal budgeting with state budgeting and attempted to discuss foreign policy (again), “How is there $100 million budget cut in New York City for f*cking schools, library, police safety, and sanitation, yet Joe Biden is talking about, ‘Yeah, we can fund two wars’?"

Where Cardi misses the point is that, while she admits the city is a suckhole, it is only that way because it's what the people who live there have voted for over and over again.

The city was already suffering from public safety issues. That's because of progressive voters electing progressive officials who pledged to defund the police. Cardi B. even attempted to speak out against that at one point, though she was cyberbullied into taking her tweet down.

But the key issue is illegal immigration and not the two wars Joe Biden is "funding." Progressive voters in New York City have been virtue signaling for decades that they were from a sanctuary city where no human being is illegal. This was as long as illegal migrants were, for the most part, not in their backyard. Whenever someone would point out that what's happening in NYC right now is what would happen if we didn't take illegal immigration seriously, those people were called raaaaaacist, and more and more progressives were elected in urban areas.

Everything going wrong in New York City and other cities is exactly what the people who live in those cities voted for.

Cardi B., to her credit (kinda), sees the problem now. Not supporting Joe Biden is a start. But she should use her platform to promote leaders who will actually FIX the problem.
