2022 was the first year that Canada did not make the top ten in an annual study on worldwide freedom. Canadians have been arguably losing civil liberties at an alarming rate. That is why Tucker Carlson just left Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a voicemail to let him know he will be freeing the Canadians from the constraints of living under big government.

According to The Post Millennial:

“In an epic prank call, Carlson called Canada's press office and left the following message: ‘This is Tucker Carlson from the United States. And I'd be grateful if you'd pass on a message to the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:

We are coming to liberate Canada. We are coming to liberate Canada, and we'll be there soon. Mercí.’”

Tucker will be in Calgary tomorrow to produce a show with Premier Danielle Smith.

The interesting thing about this is that progressives have a completely different view of Freedom than the rest of the population who are not so naive. Conservatives believe in individual rights whereas progressives don’t. The left wants a nanny state while the right wants limited government. But unfortunately, Canada is hardly what you would call “limited”.

Trudeau used Canada’s Emergencies Act for only the second time the nation’s history outside of war. The first official to use it was his daddy, Pierre Trudeau. He did that in the hope of killing any livelihood left in the people who disagreed with him. The Emergencies Act is meant to suspend human rights so that commoners don’t get in the way of the will of the government.

The funny thing about this is that “human rights” are not something that can be taken away. That is another difference between Conservatives and Progressives. Progressives think they are God and believe it is up to them to decide what the public can and cannot do. Any rights are afforded by the nanny state. While conservatives believe that rights are given by God and you are born with it.

Conservatives believe rights are inalienable while Progressives see them more as a privilege, if that. That is what makes the United States so unique compared to any other country in the world. The U.S. is the only country in the world to be born out of the idea that all men are free. It is the only country that is built on the idea that people are born with rights and the government does not give you those rights. Rather, any elected official is simply a public servant meant to protect those freedoms. But in Canada, things are a bit different. Although it is not the worst country to be stuck in, there is a push by officials to de facto turn the government into God. And that is a very, very scary thought.

That said, I am glad to live in America, 'where at least I know I’m free.'
