Carrie Underwood put America first, now "American Idol" is under crisis from leftists wanting to cancel her
The show "American Idol" is in crisis mode over Carrie Underwood singing at the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States. It would be an honor for any singer to be asked to perform "America the Beautiful" as such an important event in our nation's history. But I know you know who the 47th president is, and you can guess where things are going. Things were too quiet on the outrage front, too.
When last we saw Ms. Underwood, she was telling event organizers, "f*ck it, I'll do it live." Not in those words.

Carrie is scheduled to be a judge on the next season of American Idol, which I forgot was still on. In fact, the last season I remember watching was the season she won (I was Team Bo Bice). Producers are, it would appear, in "crisis" mode over Carrie singing in the same room Donald Trump was sitting in.
So sayeth The Daily Mail:
Her decision to perform for the Republican was polarising and prompted calls to boycott her upcoming debut as a judge on the popular ABC show.
Now, insiders have claimed there are concerns that contestants may feel 'uncomfortable' which could prove problematic for the show's 'values' and ratings.
'Idol contestants come from a wide range of diverse backgrounds, and so do the people who work on the show,' a source told DailyMail.com exclusively.
'There are concerns that her apparent political stance might make some contestants feel uncomfortable.'
Quick side note: Since we're talking about singers singing songs in Washington, D.C., on Monday, here is Parker McCollum paying tribute to Toby Keith at one of the inaugural Balls.

It's unclear how big of a "crisis" this is. It could be one person venting to a Daily Mail reporter or a Daily Mail Reporter fishing for someone to vent for them. It's Hollywood where networks will put a stop to a tribute to a professional wrestler who died because that wrestler had tweeted something "mean" about gay people a decade earlier. You can see where "Idol" producers being in "crisis" would be true.
You can also see why the left would be in crisis because they have never been as culturally unpopular as they are right now. Carrie-gate is Exhibit Q. Underwood didn't appear at a Donald Trump rally endorsing his candidacy and dedicating "Before He Cheats" to Doug Emoff. She accepted an invite to sing at PRESIDENT TRUMP'S apolitical inauguration. Americans are sick and tired of cancel culture over the former example.
Wanting someone to lose their job over the latter example -- honoring America at the most important ceremony our country has every four years -- is straight-up pathetic. And, dare I say, a key reason why Donald Trump won.
We'll see how the "Idol" producers react moving forward.
