Cartoon Shows Exactly How North Korea Treats Christian Dissidents
I try to share as many stories as we can about the intolerance toward Christian's throughout the world (see NEW 2015 DATA: Christians The Most Violently Persecuted Religion on Earth… and U.K Christian Group Mobbed And Assaulted by Angry Muslims), mainly because not many people illuminate anti-Christian hate in this world. Someone needs to. But this video shocked even me. It is an entirely cartoon drawn in-depth education of how Christian dissidents are treated in North Korean prison camps.
WARNING: even though it's a cartoon, severely disturbing content.
First not even addressing what people like this would do with nukes, or allied with a nuclear China, I'd like to address something else. I hate that I even have to post this, but it's important for people to understand just how evil the world can be, even in 2016. Generally speaking, I'm a non-interventionist. But I do have a problem with some of my "libertarian" brethren whitewashing the horrors of oppressive regimes abroad. I understand that it's not America's job to "police the world." But when you understand just how people are treated in these awful, horrible countries, it may change your perspective as to why the United States even shows up in the first place. Once you sift through the "war for oil!" and "America's an evil empire" chants from professional, American protestors, you need to come to grips with a cold reality. The reality is that this kind of treatment is not uncommon under communist regimes, or as we've seen, under tyrannical Islamic rule (Tolerance! Islamic Migrants Violently Attack Sympathetic '60 Minutes' Crew...). When people tell you that "the world hates America!" they certainly aren't including those addressed in the video.
Because whether you're a communist dissenter being tied down for a forced abortion at the hands of the North Korean regime, or a Christian being burned alive in a cage by ISIS, the one thing oppressed people pray to see coming over that hill is a platoon of American soldiers. The one thing that gives them hope is fantasy of American fighter jets soaring through their sky, roaring in to rain an ungodly firestorm of freedom upon the heads of the animals who've enslaved them. I'm not saying you need to agree that it's necessarily America's job, but please, try to stop vilifying those who want to end oppression.
I know we like to think that we've "progressed" beyond this kind of barbarism shown in the video. The reality is that both good and evil are part of humanity. For better, for worse. One cannot "progress" beyond human nature, no matter how many ribbons you wear or fundraisers you throw.
So if you're one of the good guys, what are you going to do about it?
