The public teachers' unions are going to be freaking out. Baltimore is seeing a huge boost in the number of students enrolling in area Catholic schools. According to CBS Baltimore, approximately 530 new students have enrolled in the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools. One school, Mercy High School, which is a college prep school for girls, saw a 10% increase in enrollment over last year.

The surge in enrollment has the schools looking to fill 100 open teaching positions. Hopefully, they won't be hiring any of the woke idiots who usually find their way into public school classrooms.

Several factors are being pointed to as the reason behind the surge in enrollment: the public school response to COVID--which had horrific outcomes--the religious foundation, academic rigor, and social aspects. "Combine those four things together and that's why we're here," explained one parent who made the switch.

Aside from the various COVID protocols that were adopted by government-run schools and pushed by teachers' unions, the Baltimore schools are verifiably awful. Academics can't even be classified as an afterthought in Baltimore schools. They simply aren't there to teach students anything. The public school system exists to indoctrinate and abuse students--physically, mentally, and emotionally.

This is good news for the kids whose parents cared enough to make the switch. This is good news for the country. I have my fingers crossed that this becomes a trend nationwide. It's one of several ways to put pressure on the public school system, accelerating the system's demise. That being said, parents should still be aware of what is going on in their children's classrooms. Parochial education isn't entirely immune from leftist wokeism, it does have several obvious defenses from it, though.
