CBS News host claims free speech is how the Germans started the Holocaust, gets remedial history lesson from Marco Rubio
CBS News Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan didn't embarrass herself enough when JD Vance was on. She felt it necessary to double down talking about Vance to Secretary of State Marco Rubio. At issue is JD Vance defending free speech in Europe. Brennan claims free speech is what led Germany to the Holocaust. No, really. This is a thing that was said on the television. On a "news" program meant to inform. In 2025.
Last week, Vance told our European "allies" how much at life they have been sucking lately. A key reason is the continent's lack of a commitment to free speech for its citizens. As Vance pointed out, you'll get arrested for social media posts and silently praying anywhere within the vicinity of an abortion.
While there, Vance also met with Alternative for Germany (AfD), Germany's "far right" party. What makes it "far right" is what makes anything "far right" in Europe: they think mass immigration has been a net negative for the country and would like less of it.
Brennan was shook.
NEW: Secretary of State Marco Rubio smacks down CBS News' Margaret Brennan after she bizarrely claimed the Holocaust happened because of too much free speech.
Brennan verbally struggled as she tried relating JD Vance's comments on free speech to Nazis.

She was all like, "Well, he was standing in a country where free speech was weaponized to conduct a genocide, and he met with the head of a political party that has far-right views and some historic ties to extreme groups."
Rubio clapped back as the kids say, and was all like, "Free speech was not used to conduct a genocide. The genocide was conducted by an authoritarian Nazi regime. There was no free speech in Nazi Germany. There was also no opposition in Nazi Germany. That’s not an accurate reflection of history."
Yes, the Nazis censored the media AND blocked its citizens from viewing any news outside of what the Nazis wanted them to see. It's the most common thing known about the Nazis. Well, it's the second most common thing.

You're probably reading this right now and thinking, "Wow, Margaret is a real imbecile." She is, but CBS News managed to get worse. While they started Sunday claiming that free speech is how the Holocaust happened, they ended Sunday with a puff piece on how there is no free speech in Germany. And that the government will arrest you for saying anything they don't like online.
German state police raid a home, seizing the suspect’s laptop and phone. The crime? Posting a racist cartoon online. https://t.co/4LHUP1ZWrB pic.twitter.com/tEC1N1Nm1L

I'm not sure what the "racist" cartoon was, but the safe guess is that it had to do with the person thinking the country might want to consider less mass migration and maybe see how doing so works out for a bit.

The leftist twats who work at and run CBS News want you to believe that free speech is for Nazis and that having the government arrest people for what the government claims is "misinformation" is noble. Margaret Brennan is lucky Marco Rubio didn't say what he was really thinking.
Just tap the sign. However much you hate the media, it's not enough.
