Usually when we talk about (any one of many on any given weekend) a gun death(s) in Chicago, it has to do with the failed leftists policies towards guns and crime and...reality. But here's a feel good story of a good guy with a gun, who prevented an armed robbery.

Chicago police say they won't charge a customer with a concealed carry license who shot and killed an armed man during an attempted robbery of a store on the city's southwest side.

Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says investigators classified the shooting as self-defense after they reviewed witness statements and surveillance videos from the store and currency exchange.

More importantly, the perp (who is now assuming room temperature) was a lifelong criminal, in and out of jail since the 1980's. So this is an open-and-shut case, right? It should be the feel-good story of the year. Pixar could frame a film around it. Serial felon victimizes innocent black man, serial felon gets shot, and a bunch of talking monsters and/or robots rejoice. It practically writes itself. I know I'd watch it.

This is going to be epic.

Only not everyone is happy. By the looks of it, the serial felon's family are looking for "justice." Which is funny because generally justice for armed felons arrives in the form of hot lead, but I digress. Igbinosa Oronsaye, the serial felon's step-son, had this to say.

“Something doesn’t seem right... He didn’t deserve to get shot multiple times.

... You just took a brother, you just took a father from a lot of people. Somebody’s got to answer for that."

Somebody's got to answer for that? Guess what, Oronsaye, somebody did. It was your crime-committing stepfather. He waved a gun around somebody who wasn't a helpless victim for the first time in his life. For once, someone fought back. There's your answer. You absolute....

But what is he really saying with "somebody's got to answer for that"? Perhaps a lawsuit? One that could financially destroy an innocent man's life simply because you have an "opinion" on social justice? Because guess what? He's not the only one siding with the serial felon.

Here's something crazy, as Chicago has finally allowed its legal citizens the right to carry, crime is an an all-time low. Yes, really. That's what we call statistically significant, kids. Legal carry has made the citizens of Chicago safer, period. There are now only two groups of people who oppose it. Liberals.... and the felons (and felons' family-members themselves). So it begs the question; who do they really care about?
