NIMBYism has officially hit the Windy City.

According to furious residents, Chicago’s plan to house illegal aliens in a field house at a local park would kick out a youth football team.

Last Monday, Alderman Chris Taliaferro said he was informed that the city plans to house about 200 migrants in the Amundsen Park field house in the northwest part of the city.

"I immediately informed Deputy Pacione-Zayas that I strongly opposed the proposal and that this would adversely impact the neighborhood and park programming," Taliaferro’s statement read. "This proposal disregards the issues of public safety that are of great neighborhood concern and that our police department has been working tirelessly to turn around. It overlooks the programming that is enjoyed by our senior and youth residents that actively utilize the park."

He added, "The proposal further disregards democracy whereby the residents and their locally elected officials have an opportunity to discuss the issues before decisions are made that would impact their lives. It takes away valuable neighborhood resources from a community that, in part, had been disinvested in for decades. It is because of these reasons and the fact that viable alternatives are available, that I strongly oppose closing Amundsen Park to house migrants seeking asylum."

The illegals will arrive this weekend, and games will be moved to other areas, Taliaferro said.

According to the Daily Mail, more than 17,000 illegals have arrived in the city since last August, with more than 10,000 in shelters and nearly 3,200 staying in police stations and the O'Hare International Airport. Local officials say the city has so far allocated $328 million in aid.

A community meeting was held where more than 400 residents reportedly gathered to voice their opposition.

Coach Brion Page of the Windy City Dolphins Youth Football League objected to the migrant housing plan, according to a report from Block Club Chicago.

“We’re not just a program, we’re a family. The city is doing something that could be entirely avoided,” Page said. “You’re just saying, ‘The hell with our kids.’ I do believe they need help, but you’re putting a problem into an area that already has problems.”

What a joke. He literally is saying that the migrant needs help as he spits out his ‘empathy’ nonsense. These voters will never learn.

Well, what do these people expect when they have been voting for Democrats for over 100 years? It was literally the voters who subsequently created this mess by electing people who spout the same “empathy” crap.

Would they go next door and feed another person's kids before theirs? Obviously, not. So do not go and vote for people who want to do just that.

Progressive officals don’t care about children. They are only seen as a means to promote their deranged agenda. Which is why they are prioritizing the kids who will probably end up being future Democrat voters. Or at least their future kids will be.

Democracy policies always hurt the most vulnerable and innocent people.

And there is a reason all the illegals want to live in Chicago. If Democrats stop giving people free stuff just because they are here illegally, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess.

But how much do you want to bet all these people will vote for more of the same?

Let's hope these people finally learn that the political price of the “no human is illegal” crap will force them to rethink their beloved “sanctuary cities.”

I know it was easier for the voters to just stick their heads in the sand and not expect more of the same, but at some point, they have to make the connection. The Biden administration likes to pretend that all this is inevitable, but that is not true. And let's just hope Chicago residents finally learn that.
