They say to give credit where credit is due, and this time we shall applaud the devastating takedown from CNN Primetime host Abby Phillip in regards to hypocrisy from Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) President Stacy Davis Gates.

For a quick recap, the ‘rules for me but not for thee’ CTU President defended her decision to send her freshman son to a Catholic school on the South Side of Chicago after facing backlash for the decision. Davis Gates has been very vocal about her opposition to both private schools and school choice because of “racism.”

Davis Gates doubled down on her hypocrisy once again and went on an incoherent rant about mean emails she received and why her kids get a choice, but yours do not.

“Like I've said, we've been destabilized and defunded in our Black communities. When people speak of choice, they are speaking of two different things that are of comparative nature. What we are faced with in Chicago is an absence of a choice, is an absence of resources, and furthermore, school choice in this country has been anchored to a very racist and angry right wing. I can show you a whole host of emails that have come to me and my family detailing that level of violence and racism,” Davis Gates said.

Pretty funny how she's trying to blame conservatives for everything that is supposedly wrong in
Chicago when the entire area is run by Democrats. Chicago has not even had a Republican mayor in almost 100 years.

“So if the Choice Movement does want to move away from their angry and violent rhetoric, I might add, then they would do themselves a favor and reject the rhetoric of the right that tells us that history is not important. I understand the impact of segregation in Chicago, the impact of destabilization in Chicago,” Davis Gates said.

It’s 2023 and the best excuse Davis Gates can come up with is to blame segregation for Chicago’s failing schools.

Democrats always scream racism when they are unable to back up their claims, which is pretty much all the time considering everything, including weather, is now racist. But what does any of this have to do with race anyway?

She claims that the Black Community has been “destabilized.” She says segregation is the problem but then also says she only cares about the Black community. Everything about this woman screams hypocrisy.

She also claims this is due to a lack of funding. Well, that's just a straight up lie. Chicago has some of the highest costs of education with an average spend of $29,000 per student.

Phillips ended the segment by pointing out Davis Gates very obvious sanctimony, “I also think that what you just described for your son is choice that you made for your family, and I think that's what your critics are pointing out here.”

It's appalling, but not surprising, that Davis Gates has the audacity to blame anyone but herself for the failing schools in Chicago.

But we all know, if the left didn’t have double standards, then they wouldn’t have standards at all.
