Usually when you read LWC about someone destroying Bernie Sanders on the notion of free college, it's Mike Rowe...which he has done twice. We love that man. Not this time, though. Today it's Chris Matthews. Yes, THAT Chris Matthews. This morning I checked to make sure someone wasn't narrating my life. Feels like I'm in the Twilight Zone.

Yet, here we are...

“He’s talking about free tuition at the University of Wisconsin, wherever the campus is,” Matthews said Tuesday. “Free for everybody, free at University of Michigan, free Berkeley, free Penn State, free for every state university, and I keep asking myself, ‘Where is all that enormous amount of money coming from?’ And do you think he has a way of getting that money?”

“Of course he does,” Lawton replied. But after she continued further, Matthews apparently wasn’t satisfied.

“You say ‘we,’ but who is going to pay for it, who?” Matthews asked.

“The people of the United States,” Lawton answered before Matthews interrupted and continued to dig. But Lawton’s reference to “when everyone is paying their fair share of taxes, and when we set the priorities as a nation …” wasn’t sitting right with the host.

“So you don’t know where it’s coming from?” Matthews pushed.

With that Lawton admitted, “I don’t have to right at this moment, actually.”

Dare we say, this made us feel a tingle running down our leg?

Okay, a couple of things:

1. How bad is your platform if Chris Matthews, yes THAT Chris Matthews, has to call BS on this entire notion of "free blah-blah-blah" in this case "free college"? No, I don't think this means Chris Matthews has had a change of heart from his leftist-loving ways. But perhaps he's growing tired of all these entitled college students demanding they get free stuff. Maybe.
2. This Lawton broad? She didn't want to admit who was going to foot the bill for this supposedly free education. So Matthews, yes THAT Matthews, pushed her to fess up. Because of course she knows where the money is coming from. It's coming from people who pay taxes. That, by the way, is what the government is. When people say "the government will pay for it," what they're really saying is "taxpayers will pay for it." It's just that saying "government" sounds better. Feelings.

Taxpayers, by the way, aren't voluntarily paying their taxes. It's deducted from their paychecks. Automatically. I'm going to make this clear: if money is taken from you under threat of force, it's theft. If you're one of those "lucky" people who gets to pay quarterly or write the IRS a check at the end of each tax year, you know how painful mid-April can be. So to hear morons like this Lawton broad just "volunteer" the money you made, the money taken from you, to go to these entitled whiners with gender studies majors?
