Will Smith finally responded to Chris Rock for slapping him at the Oscars four months ago, and the comedian addressed the matter for what sounds like the last time on stage. Like many on social media, Rock seemed less than impressed and is over it.

Smith posted a video on Friday claiming, "I'm human, and I made a mistake, and I'm trying not to think of myself as a piece of sh*t." Chris Rock hit the stage in Atlants this night and had this to say:

"Everybody is trying to be a f*cking victim. If everybody claims to be a victim, then nobody will hear the real victims. Even me getting smacked by Suge Smith [...] I went to work the next day, I got kids. [...] Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face."

Let's recap how we got here...

In March, Chris Rock made a joke about a movie at the Oscars that Will Smith found funny. The rub is that Will Smith's wife didn't find it funny, so Smith assaulted Rock on stage. Smith's wife found THAT funny, even though she is a "strong woman" who "didn't" want her husband to do that. The Grown-Ups were activated. Jokes were made. And four months later, Will Smith posted a lame-ass apology.

It's not clear Rock's comments were a DIRECT response to Smith's "apology." But Rock isn't an idiot. He knew Suge Smith posted the apology. He knew anything he said on stage was going to be a defacto "response" to the video. And Smith made it about how he is feeling more than apologizing to Rock for bitchslapping him.

Chris Rock's comments stand on their own as solid advice. Too many people make themselves out to be victims. Chris Rock is rich. He got hit. He went back to work and got over it.
