The right to bear arms is a divisive issue. On one side, you've got the pro-Second Amendment crowd, who believes self-preservation is a fundamental right. On the other side, you've got pantywaist leftists with low-testosterone, who think guns are icky. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas counts himself among the first group. The Supreme Court declined to review a case about the right to carry firearms outside the home, but two justices publicly dissented from their colleagues' decision not to take up the issue.

...Justice Neil Gorsuch joined conservative stalwart Justice Clarence Thomas in lamenting the court's decision to dodge the issue for now.

"The Second Amendment’s core purpose further supports the conclusion that the right to bear arms extends to public carry," Thomas wrote. "Even if other Members of the Court do not agree that the Second Amendment likely protects a right to public carry, the time has come for the Court to answer this important question definitively. "

"For those of us who work in marbled halls, guarded constantly by a vigilant and dedicated police force, the guarantees of the Second Amendment might seem antiquated and superfluous. But the Framers made a clear choice: They reserved to all Americans the right to bear arms for self-defense. I do not think we should stand by idly while a State denies its citizens that right, particularly when their very lives may depend on it," Thomas added.

VIPs in Hollywood and political circles have armed security. The rest of us, if there isn't a constable nearby, often have to take things into our own hands. Which happens a lot more often than you might think. When armed butt dumplings are busting down the door to your casa, your only saving grace is a locked and loaded Smith and Wesson.

Leftists, on the other hand, want nothing more than to strip you of your right to pack heat and leave you defenseless against criminal fart-knockers. If they had it their way, we'd be facing down our attackers with nothing more than a flintlock rifle and hope. But, lucky for us, the Second Amendment blocks them from getting their way.

The only hope leftists have is to push phony propaganda and to warp the meaning of the amendment. Which is how we get absurd claims. Like guns kill 93 million Americans a day, and the right to bear arms only applies to muskets.

It's no surprise they want to shut down or push the debate on guns back, because they know they're on the losing side. The constitution opposes their worldview and they're fully aware of it. So, leftists will just play kick the can until they're forced to confront the truth. We have a Second Amendment, and it means exactly what it says.
