I admit up front to not know anything about college football other than that it's fun to scream "roll tide!" My sports interests go professional wrestling (shut up), the UFC, and the NFL. And in the case of the NFL, it's mostly playing fantasy football and enjoying an excuse to drink beer for seven hours on a Sunday. The allegiance people have to college sports teams always seemed odd to me. But while I don't understand college football, I do know that Donald Trump and Clay Travis (see HERO: CLAY TRAVIS ON CNN SAYS "I BELIEVE IN THE FIRST AMENDMENT AND BOOBS." YES, REALLY! and CLAY TRAVIS DOUBLES DOWN ON "FIRST AMENDMENT AND BOOBS" IN EPIC TWITTER BATTLE) taking credit for singlehandedly saving the Big Ten is going to trigger a lot of people. And these clicks don't bait themselves.

Travis, the founder of Outkick, played a major role in setting up the phone call between Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren and President Donald Trump, which centered on the Big Ten's return to play. Travis had relationships with White House aide Timothy Pataki as well as Carrie Cecil, a communications specialist whom Kevin Warren and the Big Ten hired to help with messaging. Those relationships led to a call between Warren and the President. Now it's become even more apparent that the Dynamic Duo of Trump and Travis has saved the Big Ten season, if not all of college football.

Not everyone is thrilled. There are apparently members of the sports reporting community who feel we should all be hiding under our beds out of fear that the 'rona is coming to get us.

But for now, this is the best thing to happen to the Midwest since Ohio, Wisconsin, and Michigan all told Hillary Clinton to piss off in 2016. It's all smooth sailing for the Trump Train from here. Until the president is asked to choose between Ohio State and Michigan. See, I know enough about college football to know about that.
