Capitalism is a great thing. It’s the greatest economic system ever devised, and I would never disparage it, even when I find most advertisements just awful. But CNN is terrible, and they are always looking for new and innovative means by which they can get worse, and they may have taken the cake with this one.

The media can’t not cover Ukraine. Out of all the things, it’s the one event going on in the world they cannot ignore, regardless of their politics and those of their viewers. What they can do, however, is attempt to distract their viewers, and that’s kind of how this looks.

I don’t know how things work at CNN. I’ve never worked at some big news network, nor would I desire to do so, but this was either an extremely boneheaded, tone-deaf move by some idiot at a control board, or some producer—who is even more boneheaded—was sitting there, “Man, this shit is depressing. Hey, can we get one of those upbeat Applebee’s commercials going for a second? These sirens are bringing me down.”

With all the pedophiles and sex pests being ousted over at CNN, I guess no one knows how to do their jobs—I say that as if they knew how to do their jobs with all the perverts running around, but they didn’t, so I guess this kind of sh*t show is par for the course.

There is always the chance CNN was purposefully attempting to get their audience of drooling ignoramuses to have a “Look! Squirrel!” moment. I wonder how many Democrats rushed out to grab some Applebee’s after that.
