Out-of-Touch Leftists Erroneously Claim Conservatives Hate Comedy...
Leftists are still clinging to the idea that right-leaning peeps are a bunch of stuffy old curmudgeons, completely out-of-date and joyless. How else would you explain this left-wing claim conservatives despise comedy?
Political humor has arguably never been more popular. But while its practitioners all have their own distinct styles, their ideology isn't so varied: Whether they come from Stephen, Seth, or Samantha, the jokes are generally supportive of progressive politics.
If you believe a smug leftist jackass reading DNC talking points over a laugh track is a joke, then yeah. Sure.
Why has the right yet to produce its own Daily Show? In a recent study, a research team led by Danna Young of the University of Delaware provides a simple answer: As a rule, conservatives are not into comedy.
Conservatives hate comedy? LwC alone has over 1 million YouTube subscribers and a whole buttload of #MugClub members who would say otherwise.
Here's the real deal. The networks and the comedy realm are run by leftists. So, the odds of a conservative comic achieving mainstream success? They're about the same as Kevin Spacey scoring a gig as a school bus driver. Nevertheless, conservative comedians are out there (see Owen Benjamin Knows Who to Blame for Most Liberal Outrage…). Have these writers never heard of the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour?" They call me "Tater Salad."
Besides, it's not conservatives who are currently beating comedy to death with a PC crowbar. The last time I checked, right-wingers weren't the ones running around with their funny bones crammed up their rear-ends like bears foraging for winter.
The left is living inside a bubble. That's the only way you can explain their obliviousness to the existence of conservative humor. They completely ignore the Meme War of 2016, which conservatives won by a long shot. Then, they completely ignore other right-leaning joke-tellers, ourselves included.
Mayhaps if leftists would exit their safe spaces for a look-see, they'd realize yes, Republicans have a sense of humor as well. Maybe even better ones.
