Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Clarence Thomas is a national treasure. He's also absolutely despised by anyone who votes Democrat--well, almost all of them--and for that, we only love him more. But aside from being the thorn in the side of every radical leftist who would rather sacrifice ten babies to Satan than let a single one live, he's an incredible, fair justice who believes in the words of the Constitution and seeks to apply that time-honored wisdom to our contemporary predicament. He's also funny, wise, and--how are the kids saying it these days--based.

First off, he doesn't mince words when he destroys someone. Take that imbecile now serving in the White House for example. Thomas doesn't need to go on an expletive-fueled rant to drop the moron. He just tells it like it is. "He doesn't know what he's talking about."

He's also quite humble and has spoken on occasion about the inherent elitist culture of the Supreme Court. He explains that the court often insulates itself from the rest of America, forgetting about those who make this country actually work--the laborers, lowly public servants, and the military, among others--and how he enjoys allowing those other than northeastern elites to join the club.

Thomas' recent decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen was also totally based. In his majority decision, Thomas drove the point home that the second amendment is no different from every other enumerated right in the Constitution and protects the exercise of that right for the people.

And while you can search the internet for all manner of wisdom from Thomas, there might be no better words to live by than, "North is still north. [...] Right is always right, even if you stand by yourself."

And Justice Thomas would know something about right, about truth. As we were fond of saying during my time in the US cavalry, "You have been baptized in fire and blood and come out as steel." Certainly, at least in a metaphorical sense, this is true of Clarence Thomas. He stood his ground and demonstrated for the nation the kind of fighter he would be when, during his confirmation hearing--a hearing overseen by Joe Biden--he was railroaded by unsubstantiated claims of harassment. The story foreshadowed the future of Democratic political theatre and the ruthlessness with which the left would approach destroying those who they found to be politically dangerous.

Justice Thomas is a man who stands for truth and justice, even when he stands alone, and it's why we appreciate him.
