"We can't even have these conversations a lot of the time...": Crowder sits down at a Black barbershop to get the scoop
Episode two of Black & White on the Gray Issues at a Black Barbershop was released today. Watch this uncensored conversation about racial issues in America, with this latest installment focused on gender roles, blackface, the media, and much more.
Single-parent families are becoming increasingly more common, with 64 percent of black children and 24 percent of white children fitting that demographic. On top of the single parenthood rate increasing, kids are not being productively disciplined in school. In some states, it is illegal to suspend a student for willful defiance.
"We can all agree that beating kids is bad [and] disciplining kids is necessary. We can't even have these conversations a lot of the time because disagreement is cut off," Crowder said.
Comedy has been under attack for quite some time now. Dave Chappelle has been criticized for jokes he made about the LGBT community.
"The problem is now they're trying to say 'I don't like what this person said so no one should be able to go and see them," Crowder said. "I got in trouble for this. They're like 'Oh, you can't do Impressions of black celebrities.' At what point does that become appropriation? So it's okay to do an impression of Donald Trump but not Katt Williams?"
People are not as divided as the media claims. But they are constantly perpetuating more racism in so many ways. It has gotten to the point where some people are feeling guilty just because they were born white. They want you to think that believing that all lives matter is somehow condoning white supremacy.
"They would say that's racist because you're telling black people that their lives don't matter as much," Crowder said. "I've only heard that it's racist from white people. You just said the phrase. I have been told that is racist. Of course, black lives matter, but of course, all lives matter, not just black lives."
