Remember when Islamic countries used to be less... well, Islamic? Since then things have gotten a lot more explosive and anti-woman (see SURPRISE! We've long pointed out how moderate Muslims need to stand up for themselves and incite a civil war to stomp out extremism (see Solve Terrorism? Muslims NEED a Civil War...). You know who agrees? The prince of Saudi Arabia:

Saudi Arabia's powerful Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman on Tuesday vows to restore "moderate, open" Islam in a kingdom known for its ultraconservative rule.

"We are returning to what we were before -- a country of moderate Islam that is open to all religions and to the word," he says at an economic forum in Riyadh.

"We will not spend the next 30 years of our lives dealing with destructive ideas. We will destroy them today," he adds. "We will end extremism very soon."

This prince appears to have some accomplishments under his belt already. Apparently he was largely responsible for helping lift the ban on women driving in Saudi Arabia. He may just have a knack for roundhouse kicking extremism in the face.

Yes, Saudi Arabia is playing catch up to human rights we established forever ago (see Saudi Arabia Forces Spineless UN to Remove them From Blacklist... of Child-Killing). They still suck. But credit where due. It's not easy uprooting an extremist system of power. Leftists, take notes. This is what an actual fight for equality looks like.

Only time will tell if Saudi Arabia truly can put their suicide vests behind them. Godspeed.
