So, last night, the Daily Wire premiered its new documentary featuring DW host Matt Walsh. It wasn't without some difficulty. I was one of the tens of thousands of individuals who found themselves unable to actually watch the movie due to a DDOS attack on the outlet, but I was able to watch it today, and I must say, everyone should watch it.

In the DW Backstage event that preceded the premiere of What Is a Woman?, Jeremy Boreing described Walsh as a "stone-cold sociopath," and the description, while colorful and full of various negative connotations, is absolutely perfect. Frankly, I don't think there exists a better way to describe the role Walsh plays in the documentary. Almost immediately, fans of Walsh will notice his laid-back, almost monotone demeanor has been cranked up to twelve and the knob yanked off. The manner in which he approaches each person during the course of the documentary is cold, calm, matter-of-fact, and if one didn't know any better, one could be mistaken into thinking he doesn't really have an opinion at all about the topic but rather that he's one of the aliens Walsh seems so fascinated about, who visits the earth just to ask this one question: What Is a Woman?

But Walsh does have a position, which only makes his performance even more incredible and, at many times, quite entertaining.

I certainly will not ruin the entire film for you--that would defeat the purpose of telling you to go see it--suffice it to provide just a few snippets to entice you.

The film starts almost immediately with interviewing a one Gert Comfrey, a therapist who subscribes to the leftist trans ideology to such an extent that she says, with an attitude so cavalier it's rather disconcerting, that "some women have penises, some men have vaginas."

I'd have to say, there were several characters who, by their own intellectual dishonesty, laziness, and ineptitude completely destroy the left's entire argument, perhaps no one does a better job of this than Dr. Patrick Grzanka, a professor of gender and sexuality studies.

At one point, as the argument devolves into a series of incoherent inanities, Walsh asks, "Do you know what a circular definition is?" which only serves to provide a level of comical relief that cannot be overstated.

Of course, while it would still be a terribly hilarious film, Walsh doesn't just go find wacky ideologues--therapists, doctors, and activists--to prove themselves irrevocably woefully ignorant. He also speaks to a number of experts who do have their heads screwed on straight, athletes, and even a biological woman who regrets her decision to transition and now works to aid children who are suffering from gender dysphoria.

The trip to Africa might be one of the more interesting and eye-opening parts of the movie for anyone not of the right. While it's light-hearted and, at times, has almost a Nat Geo special vibe to it, the distinct differences pointed out between our Western culture and that of the tribe add a greater perspective to the film that I haven't seen anywhere else.

A few favorites of the right also make appearances in the film as well as a few randos on the street, several of whom are, how should I say it, interesting... You'll have to watch it to see what I mean.

The documentary is incredibly informative, interesting, and engaging, and if you appreciate Matt Walsh's dry sense of humor, you will laugh. My jaw hit the floor as several people answered, or failed to answer, simple questions. And at the end, I was a more knowledgeable person for the experience--and that's speaking as someone who reads about this stuff every single day.
