Joe Biden signed the American Rescue Plan into law on Thursday, AKA the stimulus bill. AKA COVID relief. AKA a festering crap sandwich of epic proportions. I'm curious to see what Americans are most excited by. The one-time $1,400 they may see in their bank accounts this weekend? Or the fact that Joe Biden told them if they behave themselves, they MIGHT be able to celebrate the fourth of July this year. Dan Crenshaw points out that while getting money is of course popular, it's essentially not only a bribe, but taxpayers are being bribed with their own money.

If you're really happy about getting a $1,400 check — again, imagine that, giving free money to people is popular. But here's the thing: it's costing you $5,700, give or take, and if you're not paying for it, your kids are. Look, if this is really as popular as the Democrats say it is, we're in a lot of trouble as a country. It means that we have fully given in to this notion that we should be bribed by our government for false promises.

Something tells me the luster of the "free money" is going to wear off once Americans see how little it is in comparison. People are about to find out how little relief it provides, and how the only thing it stimulates is the far left's soggy dreams. That $1,400 won't go far when schools still aren't open, even though they're getting hundreds of billions of dollars. Maybe save it and buy fireworks for that Fourth of July celebration Joe Biden says we MAY be allowed to have. But only if we promise to keep it small.

More importantly, remember this a few months from now when leftists come out and say they need MOAR stimulus! Even though most of this "stimulus" won't even be spent yet. Not to mention, the "stimulus" from the last bill that also hasn't been spent. At that point, the only thing left to bribe taxpayers with is a hundred bucks, a few lottery tickets, and a "Get Out of Wearing a Mask for One Week Free" card.
