Now that Islam has crept its way into the main stream - Muhammed and the Quran have been touted as acceptable, genital mutilation and radical actions just unfortunate casualties (see NO BOYS ALLOWED: Detroit High School to Host Muslim ‘Girls Only’ Prom… and March for ‘Science’ Says We Shouldn’t Bomb ISIS… Because They’re “Marginalized”!?). Activist and ex-Muslim, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, takes issue with that.

With Islam I find that very often, we talk about symptoms, we talk about the environment, we talk about disenfranchised young men. We talk about countries that feel that because they have autocratic dictatorships, that maybe the populations are acting out, but we hardly ever talk about the core of the issue. AS far as I’m concerned, we want to defeat what it is that makes ISIS so attractive . . . We will not be able to do that without learning something about the life and legacy of Muhammad, the founder of Islam. Part of that legacy is the Quran.

We should understand the process before the Jihad. So before a guy jumps in a car or in a truck, with a knife in his hand or with a gun in his hand, you have to understand “How is it that this man came to this conclusion?”

We have to start talking to the same audiences about, “Is there really an afterlife? Was Mohammed really moral? Should you really follow everything Muhammad said to this day, or are there some things that are unacceptable?”

As a former Muslim, Ayaan Hirsi Ali would know a thing or two about Islam, its core values, and why extreme adherents blow themselves into halal, bite-sized bits to kill the infidels. There's nothing wrong with having a reasoned discussion about "Why do Islamists do the things they do." Plenty of Americans fail to understand the tenets of Islam (or simply give zero craps), thus underestimating the danger Islam presents to western civilization.

Secondly, as pointed out by Rubin in the video, Sharia Islam brings a life of misery to most involved. Much like "hobbyist running." It's an oppressive, brutal political and religious system for not just gays or transgenders (who are executed for their lifestyle choices), it's oppressive for women as well. And pardon me, but being taught that "killing yourself for the cause is the way to heaven" doesn't sound like a real hootenanny for young men, either.

It's time we understand what Sharia is, what it seeks to do, and how to stop it. And before I hear any mention of "But the Crusades!" feast your eyes on this educational video below...
