Crime Is At Unprecedented Levels, So Of Course This City Council's Considering Barring Police From Investigating Crime
Let the lefties in your life know you fight like hell with the classic FIGHT LIKE HELL tee! Buy the shirt at CrowderShop.com.
We have all seen the reports about the crime epidemic plaguing our nation's capital and that police are having trouble keeping up with the drastic increase in murders. Rather than prosecute criminals and introduce other common-sense solutions, D.C. has decided they would rather just bar police from investigating property crime since they are having trouble keeping up with all the other crimes anyway.
I guess when you have that much murder, you have to prioritize which crime deserves a response. At least, that is what progressive lunatics in D.C. think.
According to Conservative News Daily:
“With murders at the highest rate in years, the nation’s capital may soon not even send police officers to investigate property crimes, instead sending civilians with no badge or gun.
A majority of the Washington, D.C., city council has signed on to a bill that would allow ‘civilian investigators’ to handle crimes like theft because police are so overwhelmed with active violent crimes. The council’s chairman Phil Mendelson said in a letter that his bill, the ‘Evidence-Based Gun Violence Reduction and Prevention Act of 2023,’ is modeled after Baltimore and San Francisco, which he claims “have adopted successful initiatives like this.’”
Wow, I just can't even deal with the statement that San Francisco has “adopted successful initiatives'' to battle their crime apocalypse. You have to be mentally incompetent to think that San Francisco is a model for anything. San Francisco has one of the highest property crime rates in the country, it may even hold the top spot. And that is the model city officials decided would be great for the place that represents our country. This has got to be a joke.
Anyone who looks at San Francisco for inspiration on “fighting crime” especially “property crime” wants one thing, and that is destruction. There is no way you can look at that zombie apocalypse and honestly think to yourself ‘Hey, how do we turn our city into that?’ But honestly, we should not be acting surprised with this one. D.C. is a total mess and it was only investible that it would soon vie to become the poop capital of the country.
Anytime a progressive proposes a new "crime bill," it always seems to encourage more crime. What a coincidence. Why do you think that is?
“Property crimes threaten to derail D.C. as a viable business and commerce center. Property crime has risen 25% since last year. Theft other than cars is the most common crime in the district, and it has surged dramatically this year, from 905 cases in January to 1,400 in November.
This week, robbers stole a quarter-million dollars in merchandise from the Chanel store in City Center, a luxury shopping area. The store is also near the sports arena where the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards play. The sports teams’ owners last week announced their intent to move to Virginia amidst a sense of rampant crime around the stadium.”
What better way to handle all of that then to send over civilians? That'll show criminals whose boss.
That said, it is not complicated in the least bit. If you prosecute and punish people convicted of crimes, you get less crimes. When you condone criminality, that is what you get. Up until five minutes, that was not controversial. But because it is now racist to hold people accountable for their actions, you get a culture of lawlessness.
