'My Body, Your Tax Dollar?' NY de Blasio Signs Law Mandating 'Free' Tampons...
New York City just passed a law meant as a sacrifice to appease its local feminist she-beasts. It falls in line with the idea of menstrual-leave for employees, which we covered months ago. That was a business policy, and this is a law... But they're connected by the same idiotic feminist principles.
Mayor Bill de Blasio signed legislation making free menstrual products available in all New York City public schools, shelters and jails. While jails already provide free menstrual supplies, advocates say the supplies are inadequate. Under the new law, jails will have to offer feminine hygiene products to inmates immediately upon request."There should be no stigma around something as fundamental as menstruation," said Mayor Bill de Blasio in a release. "These laws recognize that feminine hygiene products are a necessity - not a luxury."
The heart of the issue lies within government overreach ovary-reach. This law passed because feminists wouldn't stop harping on about how tampons are a necessity. You know what else is also a necessity? Food. Water. Deodorant. Especially if you're Lena Dunham. The list is ever-growing. All the things can't be free for all the people. We've seen what happens when some things are free for some people. It doesn't work, just like the recipients of all the freebies don't work (see The Welfare State is a Tragedy and Everyone Can Escape It, Here's How...). Case in point: it's not the government's job to take care of you. But hey, us gals are just getting free tampons out of it, so no harm, no foul, yes?
There's a sweet irony in pushing a rhetoric which says, "Nobody's in charge of my body!" while asking the government to buy tampons for you. Because nothing says independence like relying on Uncle Sam to take care of your Aunt Flo. See, you can't tell the government to keep its legislation "off of your body" as you make your body the government's business (see FAIL: Amy Schumer Tries to Make Anti-Republican Sketch. Misses Key Irony...). Also, you can't claim victimhood due to an evil patriarchy when said evil patriarchy is basically wiping your butt for you.
But hey, feminists aren't in the business of making sense. They're in the business of demanding free stuffs. Because #EQUALITY.
