Watch: KJP's attempt to excuse POTUS calling out dead congresswoman manages to be MORE embarrassing than Biden
Karine Jean-Pierre took a heavy sigh as she walked into her office. She was in for a day. Joe Biden, a man who critics say is in the throws of dementia, called on a congresswoman who wasn't there. It was because she died in August. Biden forgot that fact if not forgot where he was at the time as well. KJP reaches into her desk to draw for the emergency bottle of tequila before she remembers Jen Psaki took it with her. Psaki, who sips from the bottle in her new MSNBC offices and says "girl, have fun with this one."
That is what I imagine happened before KJP started today's briefing. If you missed the news before, Joe Biden sees dead people.
Joe Biden asks around the audience to point out "Jackie" during a conference on hunger, nutrition, and health.
Is he referring to Republican Representative Jackie Walorski, who passed away in a car accident in early August? pic.twitter.com/pSRkQLQJYU

As you can imagine, the media had questions. And the reliable lapdog media as well! KJP was begging for DOOCY to ask her a question on abortion instead of this:
.@CeciliaVega: "What happened at the Hunger Event today? [Biden] appeared to look around...for...a member of Congress [Jackie Walorski] who passed away last month...What happened there?"
KJP: He "was acknowledging her incredible work...She was on his mind...top of mind" pic.twitter.com/LhEECd4QBR

"She was on the top of his mind" wouldn't be an acceptable excuse if the president were a sharp-witted Floridian in his mid-40s. Biden's brain at this stage in life is 51% tapioca, and there is an issue the WH has to respond to any time he's let loose in public.
I would respect the media more if they would ask point blank: "does POTUS understand the words that come out of his mouth as they do?" We all know what you're asking.
.@CBSNewsRadio's @StevenPortnoy: "Can you explain where the mistake was made? Did the President--was [he] confused? Was there something...in the teleprompter...he didn't recognize? Can you just help us understand?"
KJP: "I mean, you're jumping to a lot of conclusions" pic.twitter.com/rrvZyFKUJ0

I'd also respect KJP more if she was honest: "Look, the president is old AF and had another senior moment. It was embarrassing. We sent the Walorski family a muffin basket. Now can we PLEASE get back to talking about MAGA Republicans? Besides, I heard Gov. DeSantis misgendered the hurricane."
CHAOS in the Briefing Room as KJP tries to escape Walorski Q's w/help from lapdop USA Today reporter...Other reporter: "These moments of confusion are happening w/increasing frequency."
EWTN's Owen Jensen: "Why don't you just apologize? Sounds like you're making excuses." pic.twitter.com/EUizBLTnwW

Only this White House can take an embarrassing gaffe from an embarrassing president, and manage to make matters more embarrassing. It's quite impressive.
