Dear Leftists: Actually, Yes, the Constitution IS the 'Be All, End All'
Dear leftists who hate the Constitution and all it represents,
Not long ago a left-leaning friend of mine said "The Constitution isn't everything." Yes, I have friends. Even some that tilt left. Get over the shock of it and move on.
Her declaration "The Constitution isn't everything" came after a discussion about the role of government. I asserted there was no Constitutional amendment, in the Bill of Rights or elsewhere, about the government taking care of people if they were general sucktards of the swamp. I said people should be free to succeed, free to fail. If someone needed caring for, there were plenty of charities to help them. But it was not right for the government to tax (steal) from those who work to give to those who would not. You know, basics.
My left-leaning friend, on the other hand, thought government needed to intervene for just about all reasons. Except, of course, abortion. That's leftists for you. When it came to abortion, it's "my body my choice." When it came to succeeding or failing, the government needs to intervene.
But her belief that government should exceed its limitations outlined in the Constitution got me thinking about just how much you leftists openly despise America's founding document. If you're not casually dismissing it, you're trying to re-write it. If you're not trying to re-write it, you're trying to malign its writers to undercut the Constitution's relevance. Either you have a fundemental misunderstanding of what the Constitution is, or you know full well what it is. And you hate it.
For the purpose of this post, I assume the latter.
Of course I know why you hate the Constitution. Most conservatives know why. You hate that it limits what government can do to people. You hate it limits these "angels" in government, who you believe are more competent to rule the people than the people are of ruling themselves. If you had your druthers, you'd implement a monarchy. Perhaps a King Obama or a Queen Hillary. You have a sycophantic view of powerful people. Look no further than your admiration for dictators like Hugo Chavez or Fidel Castro. Or your fawning admiration of the British Royal Family. Oh crap, some of you low information voters would coronate Beyonce.
The Constitution, therefore, is your greatest enemy. It prevents people in government from assuming authoritarian rule. It prevents leftists like you from implementing total thought control by censoring free-speech. It prevents you from disarming people. It prevents you from imprisoning people who disagree with you (which you're keen to do, read Democrat Attorneys General Want to Punish 'Climate Change Deniers' to the Full Extent of the Law... and Connecticut: Guns May be Seized from ACCUSED Domestic Abusers... Regardless of Proof).
What stands in your way is an ancient collection of documents. It stops you from becoming full tyrants. I can say that thanks to said ancient collection of documents. The Constitution outlines my rights to call you...well, whatever I want to call you. Up to and including puddles of worm vomit. I'm trying to up my insult game. It protects my rights to keep and bear arms, to protect myself from tyranny. For America, the Constitution is foundational. What saddens me most is the need for me to write this paragraph at all. What makes me jump on a box and scream like TrigglyPuff is how desperate you are to destroy those rights.
Here's the twist, though. The Constitution also protects your rights. Which, let's be honest, you've grown quite accustomed to. You like saying whatever you want to say. Your problem is when others "trigger" you with disagreement. But see, I also have a problem with your overly sensitive, pathetic nature. Guess what? Nothing I can do about it. The problem is you're wielding your weakness as a weapon in attempts to tear apart the Constitution. You're using your right to disagree to destroy the rights of others to disagree. Irony. Google that crap.
So riddle me this, leftists. If you hate the Constitution so much, which is the cornerstone of America, why not just move? Why not relocate to a country which already holds the values you espouse? May I recommend Cuba? Or Venezuela. North Korea. Heck, pick a country in Europe, if you don't mind getting a little bit raped.
Of course you won't move. Which only goes to my greater point. You cannot stand freedom, not here, not there, not anywhere. Knowing that somewhere people are living their lives according to how they want to live it, without a king or dictator outlining just how they should live? It destroys your fat-shamed body like flesh-eating bacteria. The very notion of self-rule is a problem for you. You believe you know what's best for everyone else. It's why you invented political correctness--to limit free speech. You're already in a full out war agains the Second Amendment, you're marching toward the First. You're attempting to destroy the Constitution one step at a time.
But my dearest leftists, I would urge you not to tear this document apart. As you type madly about what a hateful bigot I am, it is the Constitution that is protecting you. Just as you wouldn't condemn a soldier who is shielding your mass from enemy fire, so you shouldn't condemn the document which is allowing you the freedom to spout off idiocy without legal repercussions.
