Dear Leftists: If There's Nothing Wrong with Abortion, Why Are you Hiding It So?
Dear leftists who like to call themselves "pro-choice" rather than "pro-abortion,"
I'm going to cut to the chase here. For years, I've been defending my adamant stance against abortion. I've heard all the Planned Parenthood talking points about rape, about incest, about the life of the mother. You know, the 4 percent of abortion cases. Those seem to be the only ones y'all want to discuss. The other 96% of elective abortions? The "It's my body, my choice, screw you" abortions because of "bad timing"? I've noticed no one wants to talk about those. But the rape, the incest, the life of the mother... I hear it like a bad jingle that won't get out of my head. Nobody does it like you, the way that you do... Name that product!
This time I'm skipping all that. What pro-lifers like myself really want to know is this: if there's nothing wrong with abortion, why do you leftists go to such great lengths to keep it hidden? If Planned Parenthood or its unaffiliated abortion-clinic cousins are doing "heroic" work for women, why keep it so secretive?
Wait, wait, stop the screaming. No, it's not because of us intolerant anti-abortion activists who threaten you with our "choose life" signs. You're missing the point. I'm not talking about abortion by a patient per patient case. I'm not talking about privacy of individual women. I'm talking about the procedure itself. We're going macro here.
If there's nothing wrong with abortion, if us pro-lifers have it all wrong, if we're just a bunch of Jesus-loving hippies, why not openly prove to us we're wrong? Instead of asking us to defend our pro-life stance, why not defend abortion?
A little personal antidote for you. I've been active in the pro-life/anti-aboriton movement since I was nineteen. I'm much older than that now. I don't want to say how much. Lady-like. In all these years (okay...more than ten) I've seen it all. Heard it all. I've met with post-abortive parents. I've prayed outside clinics. I've participated in the Genocide Awareness Project. And, as stated above, I've heard every single talking point out there. At least 362,025 times. Each. When I answer any talking point, the abortion-supporter moves onto the next talking point. Bank on it. Well let's turn the tables a bit. Now you answer me.
Explain to me why you want to keep abortion hidden. Why shroud the procedure in so much mystery?
Over the summer the Planned Parenthood videos exposing the ALLEGED sale of baby parts trickled out there into the internet. Not surprisingly, the major networks decided not to show the videos. Planned Parenthood, helmed by the inspiration for pure evil, Cecile Richards, said Planned Parenthood was doing nothing wrong.
So I ask again. If Planned Parenthood was doing nothing wrong, if there's nothing wrong with abortion, why keep it hidden? Why did the major networks opt to bury the Planned Parenthood stories? Why not show all of us crazy pro-lifers that abortion is the wonderful thing you claim it is?
In medical shows like Grey's Anatomy, or ER, House, pick your show (there's always a current medical series), while plenty of operations are shown, while no one has any issue discussing a heart surgery, a bypass, a kidney transplant, the procedure of abortion is consistently kept mysterious. You haven't actually seen one. Heart surgeries? Sure. Open chest? Yep. Blood? It's everywhere. Brains? All over the floor.
But performing an abortion? Right... you're catching on.
If there's nothing wrong with an abortion, if it's just routine, if what the woman is doing is heroic, why not show the procedure itself? Not a woman's reaction as she's having one. Not her going into the office and coming out of the office. Not a conflicted face with dramatic music. Why haven't we seen this "blob of tissue" coming out of her vagina?
Recently Cecile Richards, VP of Evil Operations, said abortion needed to be "humanized." Interesting word choice. I happen to agree. Let's humanize abortion. Why not start with showing abortion?
See a theme here pro-choicers? You love to talk about how abortion is a right. You love to talk about how abortion is a good thing. Even those of you who say it may be a "hard choice," you still defend it. But you never want to see it. You never want to talk about the results of it. Worse, you don't want anyone else to see what abortion is.
This week David Daleiden, one of the two people responsible for exposing Planned Parenthood's ALLEGED sale of baby parts, had his apartment searched. The police ALLEGEDLY took evidence he had tying Planned Parenthood to illegal deeds. He's also been indicted in the state of Texas for using a fake ID in order to expose Planned Parenthood's ALLEGED sale of baby parts this past summer.
Here's that question again: if there's nothing wrong with abortion, why do you try to silence people who seek to expose it? If Planned Parenthood has nothing to hide, why try to tarnish David Daleiden or any person seeking to simply expose the hidden practices of abortion?
Last point then it's time to go.
If there's nothing wrong with abortion, why all the needs to "humanize it" or make it "normal" like the Shout Your Abortion campaign? Which, interestingly, the actual procedure itself? Glossed over. No one actually wants to talk about having the abortion. Isn't that odd? I love telling the story of how I was doped up on laughing gas right before I had my wisdom teeth pulled. I don't have a problem telling people about being treated for a broken elbow. If, as pro-choicers would have us believe, abortion is routine and not a big deal, why does no one discuss it like a routine procedure?
Yes, it's a rhetorical question. I know why no pro-choicer ever wants to see an actual abortion. I know why no pro-choicer wants to discuss the procedure itself. See, it's all fun and games until you detail how a baby is chopped up. It's all fun and games until you have to describe what is needed to remove a fetus from his or her mother's womb. It's all euphemisms and empowerment right up until you see a tiny, dismembered hand laying in a petri dish, being reassembled so the "doctor" is certain he/she sucked the entire baby from the womb.
You may like your slogans. You may enjoy your signs. If you're sick, you may even like to "shout your abortion." But try as you might, you can never deny what abortion really is. Dancing around with your talking points, trying to avoid the truth, well...it only works for so long.
Abortion is an act of murder which kills a baby. No matter the circumstance. No matter your "reason." You're trying to hide the truth of it. Perhaps even from yourselves.
