The honeymoon period for Kamala is ending, as she struggles to maintain the bump she got after Biden dropped out. Although the DNC can technically pick whatever candidate they wish, Lane and Gerald disagree on whether or not that should be allowed.

“Republicans talk like Machiavellians, Democrats act like Machiavellians because they want to win. They did what they could within the rules and Republicans are caught flat-footed,” Lane said. “Kamala's there, deal with it. Get back to reality and beat her with the issues. Let's stop harping on things that we can't fix.”

While Gerald agreed with that, he believes some adjustments and rules need to be made later on to keep this from happening again. He added that he would not be in favor of replacing Trump even if he was down 10 points. But that is why Lane believes Republicans lose.

“If you can't put forward a candidate that can win in the primary you don't deserve to win the general,” Gerald said. “We should put rules in place in the future to make sure that this doesn't happen again.”

Gerald added that he would love to see an “open primary every” election.

“The party bosses had to go and basically force Joe Biden out, saying there won't be any money if you want to keep running. Does that sound like what we're supposed to have in this country? Does that sound like what democracy looks like?” Gerald said. “I guarantee that's a very short step away from the kind of totalitarian crap that we see in other countries. That’s why it pisses me off, not because our guy could lose.”
