“The View” melts down over illogical DEI stance, can’t figure out if merit-based hiring is more woke or not
The main problem with Progressivism is that you can never be progressive enough, as the goalpost is constantly changing. So while these same people once believed that individuals should be treated by the content of their character rather than skin color, that is no longer the status quo. Thus, the ladies on The View nearly fainted over trying to decide if merit-based hiring is good or evil.
The View Collapses into Total Confusion
The ladies can’t agree if blind hiring helps DEI or hurts it.
SARA HAINES: “Focus on measurable results… blind hiring.”
JOY BEHAR: “Blind hiring. That makes sense.”
ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: “Isn’t that kind of merit-based? Isn’t that the… pic.twitter.com/2NXUol4EAK

Even the side responsible for DEI cannot comprehend how to justify it, that is because it’s unjustifiable. You cannot have a colored worldview and think that is morally superior to treating people based on merit, and the ladies on The View know that. However, they are beholden to an ideology and political party, despite the truth.
There is no evidence that DEI helps anyone or improves the workforce, as it’s nothing more than an evil way for liberals to signal their nonexistent virtue. They reluctantly agree that merit-based hiring is the only permissible way to go about it but refuse to acquiesce to that notion, solely because that’s the argument against their insanity. That is how deep they are in this ideology and they have no choice but to defend it, despite knowing how wrong they are.
They would never want to be viewed as nothing other than a quote or statistic and it’s deranged that they do that to others.
Even Joy Behar admitted that blind hiring made sense but the rest of them just deny reality. It’s a factually incorrect statement to claim, “It’s not about merit because the people that are in these DEI programs are already the best of the best.” If that were true, then this discussion would not be happening.
Although many of these DEI picks may or may not have been the most qualified candidates, we will never know, as the hiring process was dedicated to skin color over everything else. And to call that racist would be an understatement.
