Leftists are always on about getting the little guy his fair share. After championing the $15 minimum wage in their party platform, Democrats are facing a class-action lawsuit over failure to pay overtime. Field workers in various states are suing the DNC and state Democratic parties on the grounds that their 80-90 hour work weeks in the heat of the campaign qualify them for overtime payment, rather than their agreed upon salary of $2,500-$3,000 per month.

Field workers are plentiful and cheap, so Democratic operatives are naturally arguing that the plaintiffs don’t have a case because the supply of inexpensive labor allowed the party to pay them so little. “The number of young people who want to work on campaigns is infinite,” Democratic consultant Neil Oxman said. “The kids are working on campaigns because they love Michael Nutter, or they love Hillary Clinton, or they love Bernie Sanders. Pretty much everyone who works a campaign knows it’s not the best-paying job in the world.” His statement inadvertently explains why the Democratic “fight for $15” is economically ridiculous.

Let's be fair for a moment. If the article is to be believed, the workers were paid their agreed-upon salary and the Democratic Party did nothing wrong. But, having said that, it's always a delight to see leftists cannibalized by the very braindead lemmings they created...

For years Democrats have fought for the right of unskilled burger-flippers, who can't get a simple lunch order right, to be paid the same salary as a brain surgeon. They've instilled a "more, more, more" mentality in their electorate. So, it shouldn't be the least bit surprising to them when their employees come screeching for a bigger piece of the pie.

Isn't it also funny how the Democrats are trying to use the market principles of supply and demand to defend themselves? Thousands of gender studies majors were "feeling the Bern" and "with her." Since there was such a high supply of leftist butt dumplings who were eager to #resist, the work was considered low demand, hence the lower salaries. Such a rarity to see leftists use capitalism in a positive light. Cherish this moment, people. You've just seen the leftist equivalent of a unicorn.

Now, if only they would apply those capitalist principles to economic policies. But, I'll wager they'll stick with the Oprah Winfrey economic theory of free stuff.

This is what happens when you peddle socialism. Giving followers a gestapo-like authoritarian streak, a sense of entitlement, and an insatiable lust for free stuff has its consequences.
