As expected, Chuck Schumer's plan to legalize abortion until birth failed by a vote of 49-51. The idea was to force Republicans into a difficult vote. Instead, going into a midterm election where they are expected to get slaughtered, 49 Democrats made it official that in their perfect world, you can abort your child up until just before it pops out. Here's the comically unpopular Kamala Harris with the call.

At first, there were calls to codify Roe v. Wade into law. Schumer and/or the ultra-radical lefties who control the Democratic Party decided that didn't go far enough. They wanted to pass the Women's Health Protection Act. The bill would have expanded abortion up until birth, overturn 500 different state laws, eliminate religious exemptions, and otherwise solidify America as one of the abortion capitals of the world. Unlike most of Europe, who believe, at some point, you have to admit it's a baby.

The expanded abortion access was too much for Sen. Joe Manchin. He joined Republicans to torpedo the bill.

It is unclear what is next for Democrats. They spent all weekend attacking churches and crisis pregnancy centers. They've forced Samuel Alito's family into an undisclosed location for their own protection. Now, they have another legislative failure to explain to voters.
