The fight over what to do with illegals rages on. Conservatives want to punt their trespassing posteriors back to their lawful countries of residence. You know, like the law says. Leftists, on the other hand, want to grant illegals amnesty so they can vote Democrat have the opportunity to live the American dream.

In fact, the left loves illegals so much, they're willing to force a government shutdown to keep them.

Two New York lawmakers have threatened to force a shutdown in Congress over the DACA program that shields many young undocumented immigrants from deportation.

As WCBS 880’s Ethan Harp reported Sunday night, President Donald Trump is ending the current program and is giving Congress until March to find a replacement.

Kirsten Gillibrand and her fellow Democrat, U.S. Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-New York), are now willing to risk a government shutdown. They are vowing to vote against any long-term spending bill that does not protect the 800,000 immigrants in this country called DREAMers from their supporters.

A government shutdown, you say?

I love a good shutdown just as much as anybody. Hearing that the government might get moth-balled is like an early Christmas gift. After all, the government can't screw anything up if they aren't functional. But, do you know what sucks just as bad? DACA.

Government shutdowns aren't as scary as they're made out to be. All the government's basic services are still functional. But that doesn't change the symbolism here. Leftists are willing to bring the wheels on the government train to a grinding halt. All so they can keep their gardeners beloved illegals stateside. Really shows where their priorities lie, doesn't it?

Now, if only the left would apply that same steadfast dedication toward making American citizens' lives better...
