City announces they are laying off employees due to illegal migrants, but DON'T call it "laying off employees"
Denver announced they are laying off employees to deal with the illegal immigrant crisis. Though, they aren't calling it "laying off." It is just that some hourly employees will have those hours reduced to zero.
What's funny is that most progressive areas, like New York City, have the lowest voter turnout in America. Not Colorado though! In 2020 Colorado had 87% voter turnout, and then in 2022 the state had the fifth-highest voter turnout. In between the Democrats they voted for in 2020 and policies they validated in 2022, the legislature brought radical progressive illegal immigration policies to the state! Long story short, this is what they voted for.
Denver says it is NOT laying off employees to fund the border crisis.

For now, It could impact coaches, lifeguards, front desk staff etc. at rec centers

The announcement was made by Democrat Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, who blames the border crisis on Donald Trump and NOT the guy who replaced Donald Trump and started the border crisis literally on his first day on the job.
Not even Johnston's sign language guy believes this bullsh!t.
To recap, Colorado voters voted for Democrats who supported radical illegal immigration policies. Then they voted for Democrat Joe Biden, whose radical illegal immigration policies caused the border crisis. In both cases, I'm sure they were counting on the illegals being a problem for Texas and Arizona and not one in their backyard.
But it is. And now...
Do I have this right? We're reducing the lowest paid city workers' hours to zero; which is certain to cause many to fall behind on their rent, face eviction, and homelessness in order to provide free housing and job services for migrants who entered the country unlawfully.

I'd add that the people being "not" laid off voted for all this. They wanted a state run by progressives where no human being is illegal. They have no one to blame but themselves.
