America's Governor Ron DeSantis signed a pro-girls' sports bill into Florida law on Monday. A big unanswered question is whether the NCAA will follow through on its threat to pull events out of states that sign bills defending girls' sports. The left's new tactic is bullying corporations into speaking out against things the left doesn't like. DeSantis says corporations can attempt to pull the same junk in Florida. Those corporations can also suck it.

You can't be cowed by these organizations, particularly by woke corporations, from doing the right thing, and so my view was, throughout this whole time, we have to protect our girls. ... I am much more willing to stand with the girls, and to hell with these events.

DeSantis then pointed to the recent election integrity bill. You know, the one he signed live on Fox News just to swing around his BDE: Big DeSantis Energy. Corporations were very chirpy about Georgia's bill and even got the All-Star Game moved. Not quite the same in Florida.

We did a strong election integrity bill in Florida, actually stronger than Georgia. And we just made it clear: We're standing with our folks, we're gonna do the right thing. If corporations want to come in and try to bully us around, they are going to go nowhere. It's going to be like hitting their head against a brick wall.

To summarize:

Republicans have been looking for a leader with a certain testicular fortitude. Ron DeSantis has shown his make Florida grapefruits look like Florida oranges. And as opposed to some others who just complain on Twitter or in Senate hearings, DeSantis has a record of actual accomplishments. Florida has rewarded his showing backbone with a 53% approval rating. Hopefully the rest of America is granted the same opportunity.
