Hurricane Idalia is hitting Florida this week as the Governor of Florida runs for president and his chief rival in the primary is also from Florida. So OF COURSE during a press briefing on the hurricane, what damage has been done, what is being done... a reporter had to ask a stupid question.

Because we live in dumb and times.

The reason this is an "issue" is because of DeSantis supporters on X comparing DeSantis talking about the hurricane to Trump talking about himself. Which even from a political standpoint is stupid. Trump only caring about Trump isn't news, and Trump only caring about Trump DOESN'T MOVE THE POLITICAL NEEDLE AT ALL. All it is is yet another on a growing list of examples of why my fellow DeSantis supporters and the Trump marks on the other side, all y'all need to go outside and touch grass.

But while DeSimps and MAGAsexuals beef over who they are going to vote for NEXT YEAR, one thing that can still unite us is mocking the laziness of corporate journalismers. There's no concern for informing the people. There is only LOL I SAW THIS THING ON THE INTERNET I CAN GET REPOSTS NOW?

A reporter, someone who you would assume went to journalisming school, was preparing for the presser on A HURRICANE. And out of all the questions she could ask to inform the people of Florida who were dealing with the Hurricane, she chose social media gossip.

"When is our power coming back on?"

"Who cares? DeSantis might say something about Trump."

We deserve the political silliness we tolerate.
