I know I'm not the only one who is hoping America's Governor announces a campaign for the presidency in the near future. Governor Ron DeSantis is a favorite of ours here at Louder with Crowder Dot Com, and I don't think anyone has taken it to the left more since Biden took office than DeSantis himself.

Well, according to an article by The Washington Post---leftist tabloid that it is--says DeSantis' wife is also hoping he'll throw his hat in the ring, especially since it seems like there might be a pretty large field of potential Republican primary candidates. Possibly alluding to the potential nomination of Trump, DeSantis has said, "No one's nomination is inevitable."

"DeSantis's wife, Casey [...] wants him to run for president. The couple believes that the governor's skills are uniquely matched to the current political climate."

I think he's proven himself skillful in navigating the national stage, managing to tackle political and cultural issues with the fighting spirit many in the movement came to appreciate from Trump while demonstrating a demeanor and polish the former president was often incapable of mustering unless completely scripted.

None of this is to say DeSantis will definitely challenge Trump for the Republican nomination--he has the theme music already, though. I'm just hoping he listens to his wife on this one and jumps in. In comparison to much of the field--Pence, Hawley, Christie--I don't think there's been a politician who has drawn the kind of attention DeSantis has managed to garner--both vitriol from the left and admiration on the right. He's been a stalwart champion against the leftist culture wars, including what might be the most hot-button issue of the day: the poisoning of children into gender and sexuality ideology.

My fingers are crossed--I'll say that. My hope is DeSantis announces his campaign and Trump decides to toss his weight behind him, propelling him to the White House, where the entirety of the left laments their incipient demise. A boy can dream, right?
