District Attorney Bans Prosecutors from Having Guns. His Idiotic Reason...
For those of you keeping score, in New York you can't buy large sodas. Salt has been demonized because some study somewhere somehow said that salt is bad. Pretty sure that was the official language used in the study. And De Blasio just declared a Muslim holiday. If you're not packing your bags to move to the overpriced city, then maybe you need to read this:
Madeline Singas, Acting District Attorney for Nassau County, New York is enforcing a policy of mandatory disarmament amongst the attorneys who put their own safety on the line to administer justice in her jurisdiction. On Monday, Prof. Eugene Volokh broke the story that the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office bars prosecutors from having handguns, even at home.
For those of you who haven't seen any kind of courtroom drama, the prosecutors are the ones who are prosecuting the bad guys. The bad guys are the ones who do the illegal things, like murder, rape, rob, and fat shame fat people. Not the last one, but we're maybe a bit closer to that being a crime. Right, so the prosecutors are the guys (and gals) who are trying to put the criminals "behind bars." This idiot acting District Attorney has just said they're not allowed to have guns, even at home. Make sense? It shouldn't.
Prosecutors, considered the top law enforcement officials of their jurisdictions, take an oath to defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States of America. They are invested with great public trust, making decisions that profoundly affect the life, liberty, and property of the residents of their jurisdictions, decisions that can increase or decrease the public’s respect for the justice system and the rule of law. The system can only work if they take that oath seriously.
Among the Constitution is a little thing called the Second Amendment, which gives these prosecutors the right to keep and bear arms, even at home.
Which means what Madeline Singas is asking, nay demanding, is illegal and tyrannical. She's telling law-abiding citizens, people who put away bad guys and have targets on their backs because of their jobs, that they're not allowed to own weapons. To protect themselves.
This is why we don't like the liberals so much. They're not just making food blander, they're endangering people's lives with their zealous anti-gun agendas.
