There was a tragic death on the set of Deadpool 2, that saw stunt woman S.J. Harris killed while trying to perform a stunt on a motorcycle. A stunt many of her colleagues say was out of her depth. The producers, however, apparently cared less about her obvious lack of experience, and more about Harris checking off the right racial boxes.

The 20th Century Fox sequel’s producers had been exerting pressure to have the 40-year-old Harris, who had raced professionally but had never worked on a film, perform that day’s stunt because, as an African-American, she was a believable stand-in for Zazie Beetz, who portrays Domino in the film. But several crewmembers warned the producers that Harris wasn’t ready, a production source tells The Hollywood Reporter.

“It’s just a matter of time before she crashes into a wall or runs somebody over,’” says one stunt performer who had been training Harris the day before the crash that killed her. A member of the stunt team alerted the movie’s producers to these concerns but was ignored, according to the source who trained Harris.

“The producers put pressure to have somebody of the same sex and ethnicity in a position she wasn’t qualified to be in...”

I want to make it abundantly clear: I am not making light of this tragedy. Ms. Harris left behind friends, family, and loved ones who are left to make sense of their loss. They will be constantly reminded of it all throughout the promotion of the movie. My heart breaks for them.

But the tragedy is still a teachable moment about the left, specifically their devotion to political correctness. These producers were told by experienced drivers that S.J. Harris wasn't ready for the stunt. The producers cared less about her safety than they did about her looking the right way. They were more concerned about leftist bloggers and idiots on Twitter attacking them if the stunt was performed by a more qualified stunt driver, if that driver happened to be white and was performing a stunt for an actress who happened to be black.

It gets worse, though. Because this UCLA dingus is trying to blame a LACK OF DIVERSITY for her death:

“If the movie’s producers had to go outside of the normal stunt community to find someone who was both qualified and resembles the actress, that speaks to a problem of lack of diversity of stunt performers,” says Darnell Hunt, the dean of Social Sciences at UCLA who helps produce the annual “Hollywood Diversity Report,” which comes out before the Oscars every year.

See. If more black women were motorcycle stunt drivers, S.J. Harris wouldn't have died. We need MOAR black women stunt drivers!
