'Doctor Who' Writer: The Press is Making Up Sexist Backlash Over Lady Doctor
Leftists love pushing the belief that white men are pissed off whenever there's a casting change to appease SJWs. See Ghostbusters, Crappy All Girl Remake of (see Original Ghostbusters Director: No, It’s Not Sexist to Hate the Remake and Feminist Ghostbusters a Mega-Flop. Pro-Woman Suicide Squad A Hit! Here’s Why). So, of course, when they announced the next Doctor Who was going to be played by a female actress, clickbait gotta clickbait. Hey, look at all this sexist backlash!
Except here's the rub, no one can actually find any backlash except for some anonymous griping in comment sections. And Stephen Moffat - the guy who writes and produces Doctor Who - wishes the press would shut the hell up with the fake news.
“There has been so many press articles about the backlash among the Doctor Who fandom against the casting of a female Doctor. There has been no backlash at all. The story of the moment is that the notionally conservative fandom has utterly embraced that change completely - 80 percent approval on social media. And yet so many people wanted to pretend there’s a problem. There isn’t.”I wish every single journalist who is writing the alternative would shut the hell up.”
Of course, the moderator had to chime in to get things back on the #woke path, taking a dig at Doctor Who fans outraged over a lady doctor which Moffat just said don't exist. But having the press called out for their clickbaity bollocks was appreciated. 80% approval doesn't matter as long as tabloids like Huffington Post, BuzzFeed, and friend can turn the 20% into something it isn't to push an agenda.
Plus, most fans will tell you that the writing has been so terrible for the past few seasons, the new Doctor could regenerate into a ham sandwich and it would still be an improvement.
