It's nice to have a president who comes prepared. Not that Joe Biden wasn't prepared before press conferences, but he was given the question beforehand. Donald Trump anticipates what journalismers will ask him and brings data. During a press conference, the president knew he would be asked about DOGE and Cousin Elon, and not in a way that asked about what great work they are doing. So, Trump made sure he had the numbers.

Not that all of Trump's answers yesterday were great. I know we're supposed to just go "ZOMG BASED" over everything, but that's not what we do here.

His DOGE answer was much better. The attacks against what Cousin Elon is doing keep changing. The Trump Admin is moving too fast for the progressive PR firms to keep up with polling so that the left knows what they believe that week. First, there was no fraud. Then, they didn't like the people who were uncovering the fraud that "doesn't" exist. Then, it turns out everyone knows fraud exists, and we should do something about it, just not in the way Cousin Elon is doing something about it. Oh, and we're in a constitutional crisis, even though... we're not in a Constitutional crisis. The excitement is mounting to see what the left will think next week!

Trump will stick with results. Such as SOCIAL SECURITY FRAUD and where your tax dollars are going. Hint: not in America, and not on anything you want.

I know that you know that I know that you know from a policy standpoint; this is all fanflippintastic. However, from a political standpoint, these moves are significant because they buy Trump time. His success over the next two years is going to live or die based on whether or not the cost of living is lower and taxpayers have more money in their pockets. It will take time for Trump to get his team in place and get his budget passed.

In the meantime, some visible results still need to be seen. Exposing how much of our tax dollars are being wasted—something we all knew was happening but were always told wasn't—shows that the administration is serious about lowering spending and returning money to us.

As with all Trump things, he is aided by the overreaction of his opponents. To paraphrase a popular tweet I don't feel like looking for right now, first, they deny something is happening. The next phase is attacking you for pointing out that something is happening.

They are now in the last phase where not only is the thing happening, and everyone always knew it was happening, the thing happening is ACKSHUALLY a good thing.

One of these days, Trump's opponents will learn that a lot of Trump's success is based on their overreaction to Trump's success. Doesn't look like that day will be any time this week.
