Today is the day. Donald Trump is being sworn in as president. I won't say "Daddy's home" because he's a politician, and that's weird. But as of noon, 45 becomes 47. The left and the media (but I repeat myself) did everything they could to prevent it, including trying to throw him in jail. The American people stood up and said, "Nope."

Gone are the people who controlled Joe Biden. In are the people to fix everything the people who controlled Joe broke over the past four years.

Trump needs to get started immediately. Depending on how badly his hand cramps from signing executive orders, that may be the plan. My favorite is suspending security clearances for the 51 national security officials who "lied" about Hunter Biden's laptop ahead of the 2020 presidential election. That one is inspired.

After the parties and what I'm sure will be a killer performance by Parker McCollum (among others), the work starts. These are the keys to success for Trump and the American people over the next four years and beyond.

Act as if we've already lost Congress in 2026. Trump has two years to get as much done as possible in the face of Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) salivating to turn him into a lame duck as early as possible. It is rare for the party in power not to lose seats in the midterm, and Republicans only have three seats to spare. We need to act as if it's fait acompli that Hakeem Jeffries will be Speaker of the House in two years and focus on ALL the big ticket items: the economy, energy, reforming the letter agencies, and the mass deportations.

Especially the mass deportations because the beginning of the term will be the only time Trump has the political capital to do so. It's one thing for people to claim they are for them "in concept." It's another to support them in the face of the media propaganda against them, which I expect to start at around 12:05 this afternoon.

Don't take the bait. Not taking the debate is good advice for Trump in general, but there is a specific reason now. All the handwringing over the media's failure to report on Biden's obvious cognitive decline is setting up their excuse to overcompensate any time the 78-year-old Trump pauses for more than three seconds between sentences. The journalsiming industrial complex will go out of its way to do so to distract Trump from the more important issues, such as the economy, the border, etc.

Set up JD Vance to carry on your legacy. Democrats, almost hilariously, have no clear leader right now. They don't even have anyone who is being thrown around as a potential leader. On the other hand, we have Vice President Vance, who will (most likely) be our nominee in 2028 and the person tasked with carrying Trump's agenda into the future. Few people know how to articulate what we believe, why we believe it, and why it matters to Americans better than JD Vance. Think Reagan to Bush 41. Create as much success and prosperity for the American people as possible, then pass the torch.

The most important thing is to relax and celebrate today. Sure, a ton of Day One stuff needs to be done, and it will. But I've always believed there's little that can't wait until Day Two. Relax with a Diet Coke and a few dances with Melania today. Trump has earned it.
