There he goes, another radical Donald Trump idea. It's bad enough he thinks ICE should be allowed to do police illegal aliens who illegally invaded our country to rape, murder, stab or just be a general layabout. Or that Trump believes low taxes means more job creation. Now? If you collect welfare, POTUS thinks there should be work requirements.

Required to work to get money?!

I know, right?

The Trump administration moved Wednesday to reimpose work requirements for Americans on welfare, revoking an Obama-era policy that had urged states to apply for waivers exempting the poor from having to show they were either getting job training or looking for work.

Requiring work was a key part of the 1996 welfare reform law enacted by a GOP-led Congress and signed by then-President Bill Clinton, and Mr. Trump’s move restores the law as written.

“The waiver option offered by the Obama administration is being replaced today by an expectation that work should always be encouraged as a condition for receiving welfare,” said Steven Wagner, the Health and Human Services Department’s acting assistant secretary for children and families.

I mean, it's not really that crazy when you look at the states that have done this (see Mississippi Passes Law Requiring Welfare Recipients to Work. The Results? and Maine Makes Welfare Recipients Work for it. Guess What Happens Next…). When you give someone an incentive to get off of welfare, they usually take it. That's the way it's supposed to work.

Leftists often confuse "giving people free money" as compassion. Leftists in power, like politicians, know giving people free money is actually earning them votes. Turns out if you give people money to not work, they continue. To not work. This isn't rocket science here.

When you require people work for income, they generally work for income. What with income being required to purchase luxuries such as food. Water. Toilet paper. Used to wipe their posteriors, not to trash their neighbors house in their free time. Of which many have an abundance of since, no job.
