Donald Trump was elected for two reasons: his promise to finally erect a border wall, and skipping political correctness double speak. He exemplified both points in discussions about the government shutdown unless he gets his border wall funded. Especially when he bent Chuck Schumer over his knee and spanked Chuck's heart out of his mouth.

Yes, the Democrats are going to try to stick everything terrible on Donald Trump over a government shutdown. The Democrats will claim old people will die, children will starve, Justin Bieber will remain forever young, polluting our airwaves always. They'll blame all of it on Trump's shutdown lest he get his wall funded.

But Donald Trump made a promise to his voters: a wall. America elected him mainly for this reason and his unique ability to tell the opposition to shove it.

Personally, I want more of this Trump. We've tried mealy-mouthed, wishy-washy political politeness. Where has it gotten us? There's a time and a place for diplomacy and politeness. I get it. I'm not saying we should all be rude to each other all the time. But dang it, the Democrats run roughshod over us every chance they get. I'm done with being nice and glad to see Trump is too.

Here's hoping Trump holds the line.
