There are so many things you can get arrested for. Vandalism, drunk driving, theft, violating national security (unless you're Hillary Clinton). The list goes on, but those examples are a bit outdated. The NEW crime list, Dutch edition, now includes "wearing a piglet hat".

A few important things happen in this video. Namely, some poor sod gets hauled off by police for wearing a plush porker on his head. Why? Because it endangers the safety of the public. Just kidding. The only thing it endangers is the feelings of a group who hates pork and seeks to force other people into thinking the same way they do: vegans Muslims.

Ah, resources well spent. A whole pack of police busied themselves herding the peaceful dissenter into their vehicle. Because ten people were needed for that. Because Europe, they understand priorities. (read Europe Welcomes 'Innocent Refugees'... Who Turn Out to be ISIS Jihadists).

Now I know, I know many of you will say that this man was an "instigator" who was "clearly looking to upset people." And you know what? You're right. He was.

So?

If you believe in the freedom of speech, the level of offense (barring some call to violence) could not be less relevant. This guy either has the right to wear a piglet beanie and attend a peaceful protest, or he doesn't. Regardless of whether you think he's an ass. Also, let's not pretend for a second that this children's novelty hat is anywhere near as 'offensive' as the infamous Piss-Christ or any of the other commonly seen, rabidly anti-Christian themes in art. The main difference is that Christians just don't blow crap up.

On the bright side, turns out pig is a pretty swell deterrent when it comes to angry Muslims. Just ask Denmark, who used bacon to protect themselves by choosing to include it at all Danish eateries. There is a darker side to all of this (we'll call it the minority side of color, to be safe): people are continuing to face legal troubles for potentially offending others. It's getting worse and it's happening here (watch University of Texas Campus Police Issue Citation For Free Speech). How people may feel is taking priority over the real issues at hand, of which there are plenty that are going ignored. For example; the lack of response from German police leads Russia to accuse them of covering up Muslim rape.

Yeah, no thanks. I'll take an extra side of bacon and a pig hat to go with my Second and First Amendment rights please.
