'Eagles of Death Metal' Singer in Tears: 'did French gun control stop a single f*****g person?!'
The Eagles of Death Metal return to Paris to finish the concert that was cut short by radical Islamic extremists (see BREAKING: Yes, Paris Terrorist Attacks Look to be Islamic. Now Developing…). Leader singer Jesse Hughes was fighting through his tears to talk about it, until the interviewer tried to score some political points by bringing up gun control.
Big mistake...
“Did your French gun control stop a single f*****g person from dying? If the answer’s yes I’d like to hear it because I don’t think so.“I think the only thing that stopped it was some of the bravest men that I’ve ever seen charging head-first into the face of death with their firearms.
“I know people will disagree with me but it just seems that God created men and women and that night guns made it equal, and I hate it that it is that way. I think the only way that my mind has been changed is that maybe until nobody has guns everybody has to have them.
“Because I’ve never seen anyone that’s ever had one dead, and I want everyone to have access to them, and I saw people die that maybe could have lived, I don’t know,” he said through tears.
Here's is what is SOOOOOOOO pivotal about this interview. Here is why no one on the left is going to want to talk about it. Ready?
Second Amendment defenders have feelings too. They're good people. They care.
See, the left has painted all firearm-rights advocates as militiamen, heartlessly blazing through forests with their camouflaged automatic weapons, looking for an innocent animal or bystander to kill. They contrast that with "Moms Demand Action" and news segments where weepy parents post-school shooting demand that "something be done." What's the narrative? That gun-owners don't care about the deaths of people. It used to be an easy sell for the left. Tying an ideology to a cold, hard, steel-casted killing machine automatically made freedom defenders look like the villain. The left has taken that Alinski shaped ball and run with it.
But not here. Here we have a man, vulnerable, breaking down in tears. A man who has experienced as traumatic an event as anyone reading this ever has. A man who was clearly wounded and a man who clearly cares. See, leftists? Jesse Hughes cares about lives too.
Jesse Hughes simply believes in another solution to protect them. Now, when you get the character assassination out of the way, it just so happens that facts, data and history are overwhelmingly on Jesse's side (watch "The Rebuttal: In Defense of the Second Amendment" here). Particularly in this case, the case where Jesse Hughes watched people get murdered, in France... where "gun control" was in full effect.
The logical arguments are important. In fact, in the realm of reasoned debate, they're most important. But the human connection is most important to opening the door for discussion. That's what's so key in this story here. Leftists try to paint gun-owners as boogeymen before they even speak, and that needs to be overcome first.
So please, don't share this story with an "EFF YOU LIBERALS!" meme or "TOUCH MY GUNS AT YOUR OWN RISK" bumper sticker. This is a genuine opportunity to showcase just how much people like us, people who believe in the Second Amendment actually care.
Then, to refute the asinine arguments used against your right to self-preservation, send them the thorough rebuttal video below.
