Gavin Newsom Passes "Ebony Alert" To Prioritize Missing Black Children, Because Amber Alerts Weren't Equity Enough
Can lawmakers in California give us a list of things that are not racist? I feel like that would be a lot easier for us to keep track of at this time, as it has just been revealed that amber alerts are now racist.
The so-called 'Ebony Alert,' recently signed into law by Newsom, is a completely separate notification system from the already existing Amber Alert.
The alert will be used for young black people between the ages of 12 and 25 and will notify law enforcement to search for the individual.
In other words, the alert is intended to further segregate concerns and investigations by race.
“Data shows that Black and brown, our indigenous brothers and sisters, when they go missing there’s very rarely the type of media attention, let alone AMBER alerts and police resources that we see with our white counterparts,” state Sen. Steven Bradford, also the creator of the legislation, told NBC News earlier this year.
He added: “We feel it’s well beyond time that we dedicate something specifically to help bring these young women and girls back home because they’re missed and loved just as much as their counterparts are.”
If they are missing and loved “just as much” as other kids, why do they get special treatment? You know, because they are supposedly “equal.”
"California is taking bold and needed action to locate missing Black children and Black women in California. I want to thank the Governor for signing the Ebony Alert into law," said Bradford. "Our Black children and young women are disproportionately represented on the lists of missing persons. This is heartbreaking and painful for so many families and a public crisis for our entire state. The Ebony Alert can change this."
Bradford and other supporters say they hope it will provide equity to cases of missing black people.
We know by “equity” they mean unequal treatment to get the outcome they want. And the only way you can do that is by prioritizing cases based on race. Which sounds morally reprehensible to me. But anything for “equity,” right?
Everything has to be turned into a political issue these days with progressives. If it's not racist, then it has to be made racist.
But apparently, this isn't California's first alert to segregate by race in missing people. Newsom signed the Feather Alert bill last year that is supposedly meant to help locate “endangered Indigenous people.”
In addition to the “Ebony Alert” and “Feather Alert,” the state also issues “Blue Alerts” for a violent attack on an officer, “Silver Alerts” for a missing person who is elderly, and obviously "Amber Alerts."
But why stop there?
What about Asian alerts? Or LatinX alerts? How about a trans alert? Don’t these people matter as well?
You know, since the left is so obsessed with segregating everything.
You would think that with all the bills this state has passed, at least one would be addressed to fix the drug and encampment problem. But I guess 25-year-old runaways are of much more concern to the black community than homeless people defecating near their children's schools.
Nothing but progressive priorities for the Golden State. And no, I do not believe they have a Golden Alert as well.
