The feel-good story of the 2021 Election can be confirmed. Edward Durr is officially state senator-elect in New Jersey. There was concern. The truck-driving grandpa who spent between $153 and $5000 on his race to unseat entrenched career politician Steve Sweeney was ahead in the vote count on election night. Then the media tried to take him down over tweets. Then there was talk of "found" votes. In the end, Sweeney conceded and Durr is on his way to Trenton. The senator-elect shared what he said to Sweeney during the now-former Senate president's concession call.

I don't know if Durr meant this to be as savage as it sounds. His smirk leads me to believe he did. Tucker Carlson's reaction sounds like he agrees.

"I'm your representative now" is like when a UFC fighter gets knocked out. Then when he regains consciousness, the first thing he sees is they updated his loss total. If Sweeney ever needs anything, he knows where to find Senator Durr. Durr will be in Sweeney's old office with his feet up on Sweeney's old desk. If Durr were a Democrat, they'd already be doing casting calls for the Netflix movie about his campaign. Instead, since Durr is a Republican, it will be a national media scandal if he can't name his three favorite Springsteen songs.
