Muslims are hardly poster boys for morality. Between the genital mutilations, stonings, and other human rights violations, I think it's safe to say there a little behind the times. Now, there's this. An Egyptian found a loophole in Islamic teachings that allows fathers to marry their daughters. Oh goody.

A prominent Egyptian Salafist cleric has suggested Islam allows men to have sex with their illegitimate daughters and marry them.

Mazen Al-Sersawi cites prominent Muslim scholar Imam Al-Shafi'i as saying because illegitimate daughters are not officially attributed to their fathers they can be married to them.

Al-Sersawi, who teaches at the prestigious Egypt's Al-Azhar University, claims Al-Shafi'I says a girl born in an adulterous relationship is 'not really his daughter'.

Because an illegitimate daughter does not carry her father's name, 'she is not his daughter according to Sharia. She is not officially attributed to him'.

Clever Muslims. Always finding loopholes to make honest women out of six-year-old girls.

Leftists will be quick to bring up "cultural relativism." We have our own checkered history, so it's all good. Except our history is just that. History. Comparing America from 300 years ago to the Middle-East of today is apples to oranges. Cheeseburgers to falafel. Toilet paper to your left hand.

I know we're supposed to respect and celebrate other cultures. But, can we get a pass when it comes to incestuous kiddie-diddling? The west didn't always treat born-out-of-wedlock kids the best. But, our guys never said "screw it, we'll put a ring on it."
