If you were to make a list of the top five dumbest people to make the rounds on social media this week, Elie Mystal would be one of those people.

Mystal is currently on a media tour to promote his new book Bad Law: Ten Popular Laws That Are Ruining America. And despite the fact that this country was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, Mystal has made it clear he despises any law passed by people with skin color he does not like.

Mystal’s latest foolish claim is that he does not give “constitutional weight” to laws passed before 1965, as he believes those same people profited from slavery.

He’s acting as if America were the only country in the history of the world to utilize slavery. It’s not even possible to name a group of people who did not have some concept of slavery at some point in history. Additionally, he despises white people but does not even care to blame that it was a group on another continent who sold Black people to Americans. Nonetheless, he’s incredibly arrogant to pretend he’s the first person to discover that slavery is evil.

So while he refuses to acknowledge that America did not create slavery, he also turns a blind eye to the fact that this country fought a war to end it. And it’s even more disingenuous that he refuses to admit which party was created to stop it.

Additionally, if he hates America this much, he could always just leave. No one is dying to have him around lecturing on factually incorrect things, and it would be much easier to move to his utopia rather than radically changing a country filled with people he despises.

As of writing this, Mystal wins the imbecile award for the day for being a naive, arrogant racist who couldn't care less about historical truth.
