Ellen Pompeo Calls on White People to Do More to Stop Racism with Actual Racist Video
In the previous century, a well-known, well beloved civil rights leader gave inspiring speeches about a world where a person was judged not on the color of his or her skin, but on the content of his or her character. Today, virtue signaling actress Ellen Pompeo, best known for the nighttime medical soap opera Grey's Anatomy (a show that just won't end ever, because we're in hell) has taken it upon herself to erase the sentiment of Martin Luther King Jr. with a call to white people to do more for people of color. Let's loop back after this nauseating whitesplaining:

Insisting white people do more for [insert any reason] for [insert any race] is "problematic" for two main reasons:
- The sentiment behind the need for white people to do anything for "people of color" reinforces a very racist idea known as the soft bigotry of low expectations -- that people of color, in this case, are too weak, stupid and helpless to do anything for themselves, so let's not expect much of them. Instead, let's be the white heroes and insist we white folk take a back seat so the colored folk can have a chance.
- A crew, cast, office building, anywhere which operates with a business purpose, or even an academic purpose, should be filled with qualified people working toward similar goals. What matters in such environments is not skin tone, gender, socioeconomic upbringings, marital statuses, birth order, or how you like your toilet paper. What matters in such environments is merit.
Bonus point: where does this "it needs to look like the general population" slope end? Because America is more than just different races. Will film crews also hire based on how many divorces you've acquired? Will hiring take into account if you have 2.1 children? Will hiring insist the film crew be 90% Judeo-Christian?
Methinks not. Methinks the only thing that matters to Ellen Pompeo and her leftist cadre of virtue signaling twits is exterior qualities. Skin color. Race. What seems to matter most to Ellen Pompeo is the outside.
Which, according to the rules, is actually pretty racist. If the scrubs fit...
