While you were off enjoying the weekend and being a productive member of society, or at the very least day drinking, now former bluecheckmarks on Twitter were crying and kvetching... on Twitter. So of course Elon Musk, the Head Twit In Charge, needed to troll.

To recap, on 4/20 any legacy bluecheckmark lost their flair unless they subscribed to Twitter Blue. Lashing out, the most insufferable among them launched #BlockTheBlue. The pledge was to block anyone who subscribed to Twitter Blue. "But Brodigan, didn't YOU subscribe to Twitter Blue?" Yes, I have to live with the fact the band Eve6 is mad at me for it.

Elon being Elon, he gave the rabblest of the rousers their checkmark back. So they now have to block themselves.

People like alleged "economist" Paul Krugman were quick to make sure you knew he didn't pay for his checkmark. He's not one of "those" people.

Elon delivered a fatality.

It serves people like Krugman right. Elon TRIED working with them. He knows how difficult it is for them as elitist celebrities and journalismers to chip in eight bucks. He started a fund to help them out.

Some people are ungrateful and unworthy of Elon's love. So he's going to meme them to death. A more appropriate punishment does not exist.
